We have decided to switch form the previous way we were distributing plans for many reasons. Below are a few of the more important ones:
- Downloading individual plans was tedious for all vendors. This system allows you to select the files/plans you want and download all of them at the same time.
Maintaining accurate vendor information was becoming exceedingly difficult as we began spreading out geographically. The system allows us to maintain a central database of vendors with almost limitless ways to categorize and group them.
It also allows Vendors to select the groups and categories they belong to, as well as update address and contact information. I am sure that all the Vendors that we work with have seen Invitations to Bid for projects in areas that you are not licensed in or do not travel to, or to addresses & emails that you no longer use, and I believe that over time this system will eliminate this all together.
Detailed scopes of work, along with the breakout costs requirements will be available for vendors to download, or will be sent out with the invitation to bid. This should help clarify uncertainties and help us better compare prices.
