        The foundation for what evolved into Benchmark Building Contractors was laid during the early 70's in rural South Georgia. Working for a small residential contractor develops a construction education in all trades. You learn to do it all. This experience developed into a desire for Calvin Jones to make a career in the construction industry.

         A college degree in Building Construction from the College of Architecture at Georgia Tech was the next step in obtaining business and technical knowledge needed to operate a commercial contracting company.

         From 1978 to 1993, valuable experience in Commercial Contracting and restaurant construction was gained thru a series of increasing positions with one Atlanta based construction company. Seventeen years of restaurant building and office managing provides a good base to start a new and better company.

         Benchmark Building Contractors, Inc. started our first project in November 1993, and has since grown into the professional General Contractor that sets the performance standard for others to follow. We now are licensed in 16 states, and focus our resources on commercial projects in the southeast. Throughout our 512 completed projects in the last 12 years, restaurant construction has been our specialty, but we are equally proud of all our commercial projects.

         Benchmark has three Project Managers, fifteen Job Superintendents, and two Field Managers that team up to make sure our projects set the "Benchmark" for our clients. Every member of the Benchmark Team understands that honesty, integrity, and professionalism are the basis for growing our company. We currently are building +/- 35 restaurants annually, and are proud to be a part of "Opening Day" on each one.
